On the afternoon of October 31, the Establishment Ceremony of China-ASEAN University Think-Tank Network has been held successfully in CARI. Dr. Nantana Gajaseni, AUN Executive Director, Ms. Li Kang, Standing Committee Member of CPC Committee of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Government, Director of the United Front Work Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Chief Director of China-ASEAN Collaborative Innovation Center for Regional Development, Mr. Liu Zhengdong, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Guangxi Committee and Secretary of Guangxi University Party Committee, Mr. Zhang Yunling, Academy Member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Chief Scientist of China-ASEAN Collaborative Innovation Center for Regional Development, Ms. Qin Jingde, Deputy Secretary of High School Working Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Mr. Xu Ningning, Executive President of China-ASEAN Business Council, representatives of China-ASEAN University Think-Tank Network, Mr. Zheng Qiang, President of Gui Zhou University, Mr. Zhao Yanlin, Deputy Secretary of Guangxi University Party Committee, President of Guangxi University and many officials, scholars and think-tank representatives at the number of about 80 people have come to this ceremony, which was presided over by Mr. Liang Ying, the Dean of CARI and Deputy Director of the Education, Science, Culture and Health Committee of People’s Congress of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
As for the original purpose of establishing China-ASEAN University Think-Tank Network, Zhang Yunling said that its purpose is to carry out policy communication through the subject resources and talent advantages among China and ASEAN universities, building a platform for think tanks to communicate, providing theoretical support and practical basis for the development of China-ASEAN cooperation in the fields of politics, economy and culture etc. Accordingly, it could help solve relevant problems between China and ASEAN and make contributions to promoting China-ASEAN regional development and the integration of the regional economy, finally fostering outstanding achievements in the research on Belt and Road Initiative. At this point, Dr. Nantana Gajaseni, AUN Executive Director, totally agreed with Prof. Zhang Yunling. She believed that the establishment of China-ASEAN University Think-Tank Network is the important initiative to promote the cultural, academic and people-to-people exchanges among regional countries, which will strengthen the communication and cooperation between unit members and form an integrated think-tank power.
