On October 16, CARI have been successfully held an international academic seminar named “China and PortugalBuild the maritime silk road in the 21st century” in RM301,Portuguese business delegations include Prof. Fernanda yili from the School of management of the University of Lisbon in Portugal ,Miss Nyla Gameiro from the enterprise alliance in Portugal, other people in the academic and business area researchers from the Department for Malaysia Studies of CARI and all the teachers and students in CARI have attended the conference, which was presided over by the Executive Vice-President of CARI, Professor Fang Zuojun.
During the Opening Remarks, Professor Fan Zuojun introduced the development of the construction of CARI and its scientific research and current operational framework. He hopes that the discussion can convey accurately the idea about “what kind of country China is and how many contribution of China’s development that can bring to the world” to the Portuguese guests through the topic about The strategic issues of maritime silk road. He also expects through the in-depth exchanges and discussions,CARI can establish a friendly relations with the delegation, take advantage of each other according to their own cases and make common development.
On the seminar, Dr Mao Wei, director of the Department for Malaysia Studies of CARI, has made a keynote address about “financial cooperation in Maritime silk route”, and illustrates the unique concept of Chinese relationship-base. The seminar’s atmosphere was warm , and achieved a satisfactory results.
